Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1131

[1131] For whomever, wherever, the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) will cease, will the verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) of that one cease there? For those who have attained the second jhāna or the third jhāna, the bodily formation will cease for them there, but the verbal formation will not cease for them there. For those who have attained the first jhāna and for those of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), the bodily formation will cease for them there and the verbal formation will cease. Or else, for whomever, wherever, the verbal formation will cease, will the bodily formation of that one cease there? For those of the sense sphere at the moment of the arising of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for those immediately after whose mind (citta) the final mind of those of the sense sphere will arise, and for those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), the verbal formation will cease for them there, but the bodily formation will not cease for them there. For those who have attained the first jhāna and for the other ones of the sense sphere, the verbal formation will cease for them there and the bodily formation will cease.
