[1174] For whomever, wherever, the verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) had ceased, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) of that one cease there?
In the plane with thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra-bhūmi), at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for those [beings] the verbal formation had ceased there, but for them the mental formation will not cease there. For the others in the plane with thought-conception and discursive thought, for them the verbal formation had ceased there and the mental formation will cease.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mental formation will cease, had the verbal formation of that one ceased there?
In the plane without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra-bhūmi), for those [beings] the mental formation will cease there, but for them the verbal formation had not ceased there. In the plane with thought-conception and discursive thought, for them the mental formation will cease there and the verbal formation had ceased.
