[1133] For whomever, wherever, the verbal formation (vacī-saṅkhāra) will cease, will the mental formation (citta-saṅkhāra) cease for that one there?

At the moment of arising of the final mind (citta) without thought and without examination in one immediately after whose mind the final mind without thought and without examination will arise, and for those who have attained the second jhāna, the third jhāna, or the fourth jhāna: for them there the mental formation will cease, but for them there the verbal formation will not cease. For those who have attained the first jhāna and for the other beings of the sense sphere, of the form sphere, and of the formless sphere: for them there both the mental formation will cease and the verbal formation will cease.
