[1204] For whomever the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arises, will the verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) of that one cease?
Yes.
Or, for whomever the verbal formation will cease, does the bodily formation arise for that one?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅga-khaṇa) of the mind (citta), and at the moment of arising (uppāda-khaṇa) of a mind [occurring] without in-breaths and out-breaths (assāsa-passāsa), for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): the verbal formation of these will cease, but the bodily formation does not arise for them. At the moment of arising of in-breaths and out-breaths, the verbal formation of these will cease and the bodily formation arises.
