[1205] For whomever the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arises, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) cease for him?
Yes (āmantā).
Or rather, for whomever the mental formation will cease, does the bodily formation arise for him?
For all — at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), and at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of mind without in-and-out breathing (assāsa-passāsā) — and for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna) and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): their mental formation will cease, but the bodily formation does not arise for them. For those at the moment of the arising of in-and-out breathing: their mental formation will cease, and their bodily formation also arises.
