[1219] For whom the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arose, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) cease for him?
For those [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta), the bodily formation arose, but the mental formation will not cease for them; for the others, the bodily formation arose and the mental formation will cease.
Or rather, for whom the mental formation will cease, did the bodily formation arise for him?

Just as in the Cessation Section (nirodhavāra) the questions on the future combined with the past have been analyzed, both in the positive method (anuloma) and in the negative method (paccanīya), so too in the Arising-and-Cessation Section (uppādanirodhavāra) the questions on the future combined with the past should be analyzed, both in the positive method and in the negative method, by one who remains unconfused. It is the same as in the Cessation Section. There is no difference.
