[1230] In whom the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya), the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya), the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya), and the latent tendency of view (diṭṭhānusaya) lie latent, does the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya) lie latent in him?
Yes.
Or, in whom the latent tendency of doubt lies latent, do the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, and the latent tendency of view lie latent in him?
Yes.
In whom the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, and the latent tendency of view lie latent, does the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) … the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya) lie latent in him?
Yes.
Or, in whom the latent tendency of ignorance lies latent, do the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, and the latent tendency of view lie latent in him?
In the non-returner (anāgāmī) the latent tendency of ignorance and the latent tendency of conceit lie latent, but the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of view do not lie latent in him. In two persons (puggala) the latent tendency of ignorance, the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit lie latent, but the latent tendency of view does not lie latent in them. In the ordinary person (puthujjana) the latent tendency of ignorance lies latent, and the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, and the latent tendency of view lie latent.
