Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1509

[1509] Where the latent tendency (anusaya) to conceit (māna) is abandoned, is the latent tendency to views (diṭṭhi) … the latent tendency to doubt (vicikicchā) abandoned there? Yes. Or rather, where the latent tendency to doubt is abandoned, is the latent tendency to conceit abandoned there? In painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā) — here the latent tendency to doubt is abandoned; the latent tendency to conceit should not be said to be either abandoned or not abandoned. In the two feelings in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu), in the form element (rūpadhātu), and in the formless element (arūpadhātu) — here the latent tendency to doubt is abandoned and the latent tendency to conceit is abandoned. Where the latent tendency to conceit is abandoned, is the latent tendency to lust for existence (bhavarāga) abandoned there? In the two feelings in the sense-sphere element — here the latent tendency to conceit is abandoned; the latent tendency to lust for existence should not be said to be either abandoned or not abandoned. In the form element and in the formless element — here the latent tendency to conceit is abandoned and the latent tendency to lust for existence is abandoned. Or rather, where the latent tendency to lust for existence is abandoned, is the latent tendency to conceit abandoned there? Yes. Where the latent tendency to conceit is abandoned, is the latent tendency to ignorance (avijjā) abandoned there? Yes. Or rather, where the latent tendency to ignorance is abandoned, is the latent tendency to conceit abandoned there? In painful feeling — here the latent tendency to ignorance is abandoned; the latent tendency to conceit should not be said to be either abandoned or not abandoned. In the two feelings in the sense-sphere element, in the form element, and in the formless element — here the latent tendency to ignorance is abandoned and the latent tendency to conceit is abandoned.
