Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1520

[1520] For whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) has been abandoned, has the latent tendency of views (diṭṭhānusaya) … the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya) been abandoned for that person there? Yes. Or, for whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of doubt has been abandoned, has the latent tendency of conceit been abandoned for that person there? For the three persons, in painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā), the latent tendency of doubt has been abandoned for them there; the latent tendency of conceit should not be said either to have been abandoned or not to have been abandoned. For those same persons, in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu), in the form element (rūpadhātu), and in the formless element (arūpadhātu), the latent tendency of doubt has been abandoned for them there, but the latent tendency of conceit has not been abandoned for them there. For the Arahant, in painful feeling, the latent tendency of doubt has been abandoned for him there; the latent tendency of conceit should not be said either to have been abandoned or not to have been abandoned. For that same person, in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element, in the form element, and in the formless element, the latent tendency of doubt has been abandoned and the latent tendency of conceit has been abandoned for him there. For whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of conceit has been abandoned, has the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) been abandoned for that person there? For the Arahant, in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element, the latent tendency of conceit has been abandoned for him there; the latent tendency of lust for existence should not be said either to have been abandoned or not to have been abandoned. For that same person, in the form element and in the formless element, the latent tendency of conceit has been abandoned and the latent tendency of lust for existence has been abandoned for him there. Or, for whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of lust for existence has been abandoned, has the latent tendency of conceit been abandoned for that person there? Yes. For whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of conceit has been abandoned, has the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya) been abandoned for that person there? Yes. Or, for whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of ignorance has been abandoned, has the latent tendency of conceit been abandoned for that person there? For the Arahant, in painful feeling, the latent tendency of ignorance has been abandoned for him there; the latent tendency of conceit should not be said either to have been abandoned or not to have been abandoned. For that same person, in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element, in the form element, and in the formless element, the latent tendency of ignorance has been abandoned and the latent tendency of conceit has been abandoned for him there.
