[1523] By whomever, wherever, the latent tendency to lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) has been abandoned — has the latent tendency to ignorance (avijjānusaya) been abandoned by that one there?

As for the Arahant: in the three feelings (vedanā) in the sensual element (kāmadhātu), the latent tendency to ignorance has been abandoned by him there; the latent tendency to lust for existence should not be said either to be "abandoned" or to be "not abandoned". For that same person, in the form element (rūpadhātu) and in the formless element (arūpadhātu), the latent tendency to ignorance has been abandoned by him there and the latent tendency to lust for existence has been abandoned.
