[341] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not arise, does the ear base (sotāyatana) not arise for that one there?
For those without eye but with ear who are being reborn (upapajjantā), the eye base does not arise for them there, yet it is not the case that the ear base does not arise for them there. For all who are passing away (cavantā), and for those without eye and without ear who are being reborn, both the eye base does not arise for them there and the ear base does not arise.
