Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 417

[417] "For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) arises, did the ear base (sotāyatana) arise for that one there?" — For those being reborn in the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the eye base arises for them there, but it is not the case that the ear base arose for them there. For the others, possessed of eyes, who are being reborn, both the eye base arises for them there and the ear base arose. "Or, for whomever, wherever, the ear base arose, does the eye base arise for that one there?" — For those passing away from the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for those without eyes being reborn in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), the ear base arose for them there, but it is not the case that the eye base arises for them there. For those possessed of eyes who are being reborn, both the ear base arose for them there and the eye base arises.
