Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 443

[443] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) arises, will the ear base (sotāyatana) arise for that one? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for those who, having been reborn into the formless (arūpa), will attain final Nibbāna — for these, as they are being reborn, the eye base arises, but the ear base will not arise for them. For the others — those with eyes who are being reborn — both the eye base arises and the ear base will arise. Or, for whomever the ear base will arise, does the eye base arise for that one? For all who are passing away, and for those without eyes who are being reborn, the ear base will arise, but the eye base does not arise for them. For those with eyes who are being reborn, both the ear base will arise and the eye base arises.
