Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 458

[458] Wherever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) arises for anyone, will the mind base (manāyatana) arise for that one there? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-constituent [plane] (pañcavokāra), the eye base arises for them there, but the mind base will not arise for them there. For the others possessing eyes who are being reborn, the eye base arises for them there and the mind base will arise. Or else, wherever the mind base will arise for anyone, does the eye base arise for that one there? For those passing away from the five-constituent [plane], for those without eyes who are being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for the formless beings (arūpa), the mind base will arise for them there, but the eye base does not arise for them there. For those possessing eyes who are being reborn, the mind base will arise for them there and the eye base arises.
