[446] For whomever the eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) arises, will the mind sense base (manāyatana) arise for that one?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), the eye sense base arises for them, but the mind sense base will not arise for them. For the others who are being reborn possessing eyes, the eye sense base arises for them and the mind sense base will arise.
Or, for whomever the mind sense base will arise, does the eye sense base arise for that one?
For all who are passing away and for those without eyes who are being reborn, the mind sense base will arise for them, but the eye sense base does not arise for them. For those possessing eyes who are being reborn, the mind sense base will arise for them and the eye sense base arises.
