[442] For whomever in whatever place the mind base (manāyatana) does not arise, has the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) never arisen for that one there?
For all who are passing away, and for mindless ones (acittaka) who are being reborn, the mind base does not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the dhamma base has never arisen for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the mind base does not arise for them there, and the dhamma base has never arisen.
Or rather, for whomever in whatever place the dhamma base has never arisen, does the mind base not arise for that one there?
For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes, the dhamma base has never arisen for them there, but it is not the case that the mind base does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, the dhamma base has never arisen for them there, and the mind base does not arise.
