[486] For whomever, wherever, the mind base (manāyatana) does not arise, will the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) not arise for that one there?
For all who are passing away (cavanta), and for those without mind (acittaka) who are being reborn (upapajjanta), the mind base does not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the dhamma base will not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbanta), the mind base does not arise for them there, and the dhamma base will not arise.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the dhamma base will not arise, does the mind base not arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn, the dhamma base will not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the mind base does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna, the dhamma base will not arise for them there, and the mind base does not arise.
