[485] For whomever, wherever, the form base (rūpāyatana) does not arise, will the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) not arise for that one there?
For all who are passing away, and for the formless ones who are being reborn: for them, there, the form base does not arise, but it is not the case that the dhamma base will not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent (pañcavokāra) [plane], and for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the formless [plane]: for them, there, the form base does not arise and the dhamma base will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the dhamma base will not arise, does the form base not arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence who are being reborn into the five-constituent [plane]: for them, there, the dhamma base will not arise, but it is not the case that the form base does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent [plane], and for those in their final existence in the formless [plane]: for them, there, the dhamma base will not arise and the form base does not arise.
