[463] For whomever, wherever, the form base (rūpāyatana) arises, will the mind base (manāyatana) arise for that one there? For beings in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for those being reborn among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the form base arises for them there, but the mind base will not arise for them there. For the others being reborn into the five-constituent existence, for them there both the form base arises and the mind base will arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind base will arise, does the form base arise for that one there? For those passing away from the five-constituent existence and for the formless beings (arūpa), the mind base will arise for them there, but the form base does not arise for them there. For those being reborn into the five-constituent existence, for them there both the mind base will arise and the form base arises.
