[451] For whom the form sense base (rūpāyatana) arises, will the mind sense base (manāyatana) arise for that one?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-aggregate [existence] (pañcavokāra), the form sense base arises, but the mind sense base will not arise for them. For the others, possessing form (sarūpaka), who are being reborn, the form sense base arises and the mind sense base will arise.
Or rather, for whom the mind sense base will arise, does the form sense base arise for that one?
For all who are passing away, and for those without form (arūpaka) who are being reborn, the mind sense base will arise, but the form sense base does not arise for them. For those possessing form who are being reborn, the mind sense base will arise and the form sense base arises.
