Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 418

[418] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) arises, did the nose base (ghānāyatana) arise for that one there? For those being reborn into the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the eye base arises for them there, but the nose base did not arise for them there. For those with eyes (sacakkhuka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for them there the eye base arises and the nose base arose. Or else: for whomever, wherever, the nose base arose, does the eye base arise for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere and for those without eyes (acakkhuka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, the nose base arose for them there, but the eye base does not arise for them there. For those with eyes who are being reborn into the sense sphere, for them there the nose base arose and the eye base arises.
