[497] For whomever, wherever, the eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) arose, will the nose sense base (ghānāyatana) arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) and for those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara): for them there the eye sense base arose, but the nose sense base will not arise for them there. For the others of the sense sphere: for them there the eye sense base arose, and the nose sense base will arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the nose sense base … Yes (āmantā).
