[319] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not arise, does the ear base (sotāyatana) not arise for that one?
For those without eye but with ear who are being reborn, the eye base does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the ear base does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those without eye and without ear who are being reborn, for them both the eye base does not arise and the ear base does not arise.
Or rather, for whomever the ear base does not arise, does the eye base not arise for that one?
