Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 320

[320] For whom the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not arise, does the nose base (ghānāyatana) not arise for that one? For those without eye but with nose who are being reborn, the eye base does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the nose base does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those without eye and without nose who are being reborn, for them both the eye base does not arise and the nose base does not arise. Or rather, for whom the nose base does not arise, does the eye base not arise for that one? For those without nose but with eye who are being reborn, the nose base does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the eye base does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those without nose and without eye who are being reborn, for them both the nose base does not arise and the eye base does not arise.
