[577] For whomever, wherever, the nose base (ghānāyatana) will not cease, will the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one there?
For those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and those of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), the nose base will not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the mind base will not cease for them there. For those who are attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbantā) and for the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), for them there both the nose base will not cease and the mind base will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind base will not cease, will the nose base not cease for that one there?
Yes (āmantā).
