Uppādanirodhavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 782

[782] For whomever and wherever the nose base (ghānāyatana) does not arise, will the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for those lacking the nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — for them, there, the nose base does not arise, but it is not the case that the mind base will not cease for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbantā) and for the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them, there, both the nose base does not arise and the mind base will not cease. Or, for whomever and wherever the mind base will not cease, does the nose base not arise for that one there? Yes.
