[762] "For whomever, wherever, the nose sense base (ghānāyatana) arises, will the mind sense base (manāyatana) cease for that one there?"
"Yes."
"Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind sense base will cease, does the nose sense base arise for that one there?"
"For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for those without the nose being reborn into the sense sphere, for those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for those of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): the mind sense base will cease for them there, but the nose sense base does not arise for them there. For those possessing the nose who are being reborn: the mind sense base will cease for them there, and the nose sense base arises."
