[761] For whomever, wherever, the nose base (ghānāyatana) arises, will the form base (rūpāyatana) cease for that one there? Yes. Or, conversely, for whomever, wherever, the form base will cease, does the nose base arise for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for those without a nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara): for them the form base will cease there, but the nose base does not arise for them there. For those possessing a nose (saghānaka) who are being reborn: for them, there, both the form base will cease and the nose base arises.
