[717] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) will arise, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) cease for that one there?
For those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the eye base will arise for them there, but the nose base will not cease for them there. For those of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), both the eye base will arise for them there and the nose base will cease.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the nose base will cease, will the eye base arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, the nose base will cease for them there, but the eye base will not arise for them there. For the other beings of the sense sphere, both the nose base will cease for them there and the eye base will arise.
