[716] "For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) will arise, will the ear base (sotāyatana) cease for that one there?"
"Yes."
"Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the ear base will cease, will the eye base arise for that one there?"
"For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), the ear base will cease for them there, but the eye base will not arise for them there. For the others in five-constituent existence, for them there both the ear base will cease and the eye base will arise."
