Uppādanirodhavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 781

[781] For whomever, wherever, the nose base (ghānāyatana) does not arise, will the form base (rūpāyatana) not cease for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for the noseless (aghānaka) being reborn into the sense sphere, and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara): for them, there, the nose base does not arise, yet it is not the case that the form base will not cease for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra) and for formless (arūpa) beings: for them, there, the nose base does not arise and the form base will not cease. Or again, for whomever, wherever, the form base will not cease, does the nose base not arise for that one there? Yes.
