[644] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not cease, will the form base (rūpāyatana) not cease for that one there?
For those being reborn into the five-constituent plane (pañcavokāra), for the eyeless (acakkhuka) passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them there the eye base does not cease, but it is not the case that for them there the form base will not cease. For formless beings (arūpa): for them there the eye base does not cease, and the form base will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the form base will not cease, does the eye base not cease for that one there?
For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the five-constituent plane: for them there the form base will not cease, but it is not the case that for them there the eye base does not cease. For formless beings: for them there the form base will not cease, and the eye base does not cease.
