Uppādanirodhavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 743

[743] For whomever, wherever, the form base (rūpāyatana) will not arise, will the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one there? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for formless beings (arūpa): for them, there, the form base will not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the mind base will not cease. For those who are attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna): for them, there, both the form base will not arise and the mind base will not cease. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind base will not cease, will the form base not arise for that one there? For non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them, there, the mind base will not cease, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the form base will not arise. For those who are attaining final Nibbāna: for them, there, both the mind base will not cease and the form base will not arise.
