[784] For whomever, wherever, the form base (rūpāyatana) does not arise, will the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one there?
For those passing away from five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra) and for the formless (arūpa) beings: for them there the form base does not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the mind base will not cease. For those attaining final Nibbāna and for those passing away from the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them there the form base does not arise, and the mind base will not cease.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the mind base will not cease, does the form base not arise for that one there?
For those being reborn among the non-percipient beings: for them there the mind base will not cease, but it is not the case that for them there the form base does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna and for those passing away from the non-percipient beings: for them there the mind base will not cease, and the form base does not arise.
