[650] For whomever in whatever place the form base (rūpāyatana) does not cease, will the mind base (manāyatana) of that one in that place not cease?
For those arising into the five-constituent [existence] (pañcavokāra) and for formless (arūpa) beings, the form base does not cease for them in that place, but it is not the case that the mind base will not cease for them in that place. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the formless [plane] and for those arising among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the form base does not cease for them in that place and the mind base will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever in whatever place the mind base will not cease, does the form base of that one in that place not cease?
For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent [existence] and for non-percipient beings who are passing away, the mind base will not cease for them in that place, but it is not the case that the form base does not cease for them in that place. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the formless [plane] and for those arising among the non-percipient beings, the mind base will not cease for them in that place and the form base does not cease.
