[651] For whomever, wherever, the form base (rūpāyatana) does not cease, will the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) not cease for that one there?
For all who are being reborn, and for the formless (arūpaka) beings who are passing away, the form base does not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the dhamma base will not cease for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the formless [plane] (arūpa), the form base does not cease for them there, and the dhamma base too will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the dhamma base will not cease, does the form base not cease for that one there?
For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-aggregate [existence] (pañcavokāra), the dhamma base will not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the form base does not cease for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the formless [plane], the dhamma base will not cease for them there, and the form base too does not cease.
