[612] For whomever the form base (rūpāyatana) does not cease there, has the mental-phenomena base (dhammāyatana) not ceased for that one there?
For all who are being reborn, and for the formless beings who are passing away, the form base does not cease for them there, yet it is not the case that the mental-phenomena base has not ceased for them there. For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the form base does not cease for them there and the mental-phenomena base has not ceased.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the mental-phenomena base has not ceased, does the form base not cease for that one there?
For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the Pure Abodes, the mental-phenomena base has not ceased for them there, yet it is not the case that the form base does not cease for them there. For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes, the mental-phenomena base has not ceased for them there and the form base does not cease.
