[579] For whomever, wherever, the form base (rūpāyatana) will not cease, will the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one there? For the formless beings (arūpa), the form base will not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the mind base will not cease for them there; for those who are attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbanta), the form base will not cease for them there, and the mind base will not cease.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the mind base will not cease, will the form base not cease for that one there? For the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), the mind base will not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the form base will not cease for them there; for those who are attaining final Nibbāna, the mind base will not cease for them there, and the form base will not cease.
