[947] For whomever, wherever, the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) ceases, has the truth of the path (maggasacca) ceased for that one there?
For beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa) at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the rebirth mind (uppatticitta), for those who have not attained comprehension (anabhisametāvī) who are passing away, at the moment of the dissolution of a mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatti), and for those passing away from the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them there the truth of suffering ceases, but the truth of the path has not ceased for them there. For those who have attained comprehension (abhisametāvī) who are passing away, at the moment of the dissolution of a mind in the course of existence — for them there the truth of suffering ceases, and the truth of the path has ceased.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the truth of the path has ceased, does the truth of suffering cease for that one there?
For those who have attained comprehension who are being reborn, at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind in the course of existence, and in the formless realm (arūpa) at the moment of the dissolution of the path and of fruition (phala) — for them there the truth of the path has ceased, but the truth of suffering does not cease for them there. For those who have attained comprehension who are passing away, at the moment of the dissolution of a mind in the course of existence — for them there the truth of the path has ceased, and the truth of suffering ceases.
