[964] For whomever the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) does not cease, will the truth of the path (maggasacca) not cease for that one?
At the moment of the arising of the supreme path (aggamagga); at the moment of the arising of the mind (citta) in immediate succession to which [beings] will obtain the supreme path; and, for those others who will obtain the path, as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of the arising of mind, [and] in the immaterial [plane] (arūpa) at the moment of the dissolution of the path and of fruition — for them the truth of suffering does not cease, but it is not the case that for them the truth of the path will not cease. At the moment of the arising of the mind of Arahants, and, for those worldlings (puthujjana) who will not obtain the path, as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of mind, [and] in the immaterial [plane] at the moment of the dissolution of the path and of fruition — for them the truth of suffering does not cease and the truth of the path will not cease.
Or indeed, for whomever the truth of the path will not cease, does the truth of suffering not cease for that one?
At the moment of the dissolution of the supreme path; at the moment of the dissolution of the mind of Arahants; and, for those worldlings who will not obtain the path, as they are passing away and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the dissolution of mind — for them the truth of the path will not cease, but it is not the case that for them the truth of suffering does not cease. At the moment of the arising of the mind of Arahants, and, for those worldlings who will not obtain the path, as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of mind, [and] in the immaterial [plane] at the moment of the dissolution of the path and of fruition — for them the truth of the path will not cease and the truth of suffering does not cease.
