[1010] For whomever the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) does not arise, will the truth of the path (maggasacca) of that one not cease?
At the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the path; at the moment of dissolution of that mind (citta) immediately after which they will obtain the highest path (aggamagga); for those others who will obtain the path, while they are passing away, and at the moment of dissolution of the mind in the course of existence (pavatta); and in the immaterial plane (arūpa), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the path and of fruition (phala) — for these the truth of suffering does not arise, yet it is not the case that for them the truth of the path will not cease. At the moment of dissolution of the highest path; for Arahants, at the moment of dissolution of the mind; for those ordinary persons (puthujjanā) who will not obtain the path, while they are passing away, and at the moment of dissolution of the mind in the course of existence; and in the immaterial plane, at the moment of arising of the path and of fruition — for these the truth of suffering does not arise, and the truth of the path will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever the truth of the path will not cease, does the truth of suffering not arise for that one?
For Arahants, at the moment of arising of the mind; and for those ordinary persons who will not obtain the path, while they are being reborn, and at the moment of arising of the mind in the course of existence — for these, there, the truth of the path will not cease, yet it is not the case that for them the truth of suffering does not arise. At the moment of dissolution of the highest path; for Arahants, at the moment of dissolution of the mind; for those ordinary persons who will not obtain the path, while they are passing away, and at the moment of dissolution of the mind in the course of existence; and in the immaterial plane, at the moment of arising of the path and of fruition — for these the truth of the path will not cease, and the truth of suffering does not arise.
