[968] For whomever in whatever place the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) does not cease, will the truth of the path (maggasacca) not cease for that one in that place?
In the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the highest path (aggamagga); for those who, immediately after a given mind (citta), will obtain the highest path — at the moment of arising of that mind; for those others who will obtain the path — as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising of the mind; and, in the immaterial plane (arūpa), at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the path and of fruition (phala) — for them, in that place, the truth of suffering does not cease, but it is not the case that, for them, in that place, the truth of the path will not cease. For Arahants (arahanta), at the moment of arising of the mind; for those worldlings (puthujjana) who will not obtain the path — as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of the mind; in the immaterial plane, at the moment of dissolution of the path and of fruition; and for those being reborn into a state of loss and woe (apāya) or among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for them, in that place, the truth of suffering does not cease, and the truth of the path will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever in whatever place the truth of the path will not cease, does the truth of suffering not cease for that one in that place?
At the moment of dissolution of the highest path; for Arahants, at the moment of dissolution of the mind; for those worldlings who will not obtain the path — as they are passing away and, in the course of existence, at the moment of dissolution of the mind; and for those passing away from a state of loss and woe or from among the non-percipient beings — for them, in that place, the truth of the path will not cease, but it is not the case that, for them, in that place, the truth of suffering does not cease. For Arahants, at the moment of arising of the mind; for those worldlings who will not obtain the path — as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of the mind; in the immaterial plane, at the moment of dissolution of the path and of fruition; and for those being reborn into a state of loss and woe or among the non-percipient beings — for them, in that place, the truth of the path will not cease, and the truth of suffering does not cease.
