[1035] For whomever the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) arises, had the mind faculty (manindriya) arisen for that one?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the mind faculty had arisen, does the wisdom faculty arise for that one?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from knowledge (ñāṇa), for those who have attained cessation (nirodha), and for non-percipient beings — for them the mind faculty had arisen, but the wisdom faculty does not arise for them. For those being reborn with [minds] associated with knowledge, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with knowledge — for them both the mind faculty had arisen and the wisdom faculty arises.
