[1039] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, did the femininity faculty (itthindriya) … the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arise for that one there?
For those being reborn into the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the eye faculty arises for them there, but the masculinity faculty did not arise for them there. For those with eyes being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for them there both the eye faculty arises and the masculinity faculty arose.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty arose, does the eye faculty arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the sense sphere, and for those without eyes being reborn into the sense sphere, the masculinity faculty arose for them there, but the eye faculty does not arise for them there. For those with eyes being reborn into the sense sphere, for them there both the masculinity faculty arose and the eye faculty arises.
