Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1080

[1080] For whom the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, will the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arise for that one? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) being reborn into the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra); for those who, having been reborn into the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna; and for those women who, having manifested in some number of existences in that very state, will attain final Nibbāna — for these, as they are being reborn, the eye faculty arises for them, but the masculinity faculty will not arise for them. For the others possessed of eyes, as they are being reborn, the eye faculty arises for them and the masculinity faculty will arise. Or, for whom the masculinity faculty will arise, does the eye faculty arise for that one? For all who are passing away and for those without eyes being reborn, the masculinity faculty will arise for them, but the eye faculty does not arise for them. For those possessed of eyes being reborn, the masculinity faculty will arise for them and the eye faculty arises.
