Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1079

[1079] For whomever the eye-faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, will the femininity faculty (itthindriya) arise for that one? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for those who, having been reborn in the form-sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless-sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna, and for those males who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state [of maleness], will attain final Nibbāna — for these, as they are being reborn, the eye-faculty arises, but the femininity faculty will not arise for them. For the others possessed of eyes (sacakkhuka), as they are being reborn, the eye-faculty arises and the femininity faculty will arise. Or rather, for whomever the femininity faculty will arise, does the eye-faculty arise for that one? For all who are passing away, and for those without eyes (acakkhuka) as they are being reborn — for these the femininity faculty will arise, but the eye-faculty does not arise for them. For those possessed of eyes, as they are being reborn — for these the femininity faculty will arise, and the eye-faculty arises.
