[1126] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there?
For beings in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those possessing the nose (saghānaka) who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for these, while they are being reborn, the nose faculty arises for them there, but the equanimity faculty will not arise for them there. For the others possessing the nose, while they are being reborn, both the nose faculty arises for them there and the equanimity faculty will arise there.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will arise, does the nose faculty arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the sense sphere, for those without the nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — the equanimity faculty will arise for them there, but the nose faculty does not arise for them there. For those possessing the nose, while they are being reborn, both the equanimity faculty will arise for them there and the nose faculty arises there.
