[1127] For whomever in whatever place the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arise for that one in that place?
For beings in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara): the nose faculty arises for them in that place, but the faith faculty will not arise for them in that place. For the others, possessed of a nose (saghānaka), who are being reborn: for them in that place both the nose faculty arises and the faith faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever in whatever place the faith faculty will arise, does the nose faculty arise for that one in that place?
For those passing away from the sense sphere, for those without a nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): the faith faculty will arise for them in that place, but the nose faculty does not arise for them in that place. For those possessed of a nose who are being reborn: for them in that place both the faith faculty will arise and the nose faculty arises.
