[573] For whomever and wherever the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, does the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arise for that one there?
For those possessing a nose (saghānaka) who are without root-cause (ahetuka) and are being reborn, the nose faculty arises for them there, but the faith faculty does not arise for them there. For those possessing a nose who are with root-cause (sahetuka) and are being reborn, for them there both the nose faculty arises and the faith faculty arises.
Or rather, for whomever and wherever the faith faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise for that one there?
For those with root-cause who are without a nose (aghānaka) and are being reborn, the faith faculty arises for them there, but the nose faculty does not arise for them there. For those with root-cause who possess a nose and are being reborn, for them there both the faith faculty arises and the nose faculty arises.
