Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 503

[503] For whom the nose faculty (ghānindriyaṃ) arises, does the faith faculty (saddhindriyaṃ) arise for him? For those possessing a nose (saghānaka) who are rootless (ahetuka) and are being reborn, the nose faculty arises for them, but the faith faculty does not arise for them; for those possessing a nose who are with roots (sahetuka) and are being reborn, both the nose faculty arises for them and the faith faculty arises. Or, for whom the faith faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise for him? For those with roots who are without a nose (aghānaka) and are being reborn, the faith faculty arises for them, but the nose faculty does not arise for them; for those with roots who possess a nose and are being reborn, both the faith faculty arises for them and the nose faculty arises.
